IDD/DECOMPRESSION THERAPY
"Dr. Schenendorf is simply the best. I have been coming to Buckhead Spine Specialists for a little over 6 months now, and it has changed my life. I came to Dr. Schenendorf and his staff overwhelmed with the idea of back surgery being inevitable, and I am so happy to say that through Decompression Therapy and physical therapy, I am well on my way towards managing my injury without having to have surgical intervention."

The Key To Successful Decompression Therapy At BSS Is Combining Muscular Therapies, Massage and Physical Therapy As Part Of Every Patient's Protocol To Ensure Not Only A Complete Recovery But The Ability To Sustain Your Progress
What Is Decompression Therapy and Why Choose Buckhead Pain Specialists?
IDD Therapy - Intervertebral Differential Dynamics Therapy® is a proven treatment for the relief of lower back pain and associated lower extremity pain such as sciatica. With a significant success rate, tens of thousands of patients have experienced dramatic pain relief and healing.
IDD Therapy is an innovative approach for the relief of lower back syndromes, including:
• Herniated or bulging discs
• Degenerative disc disease
• Posterior facet syndrome
• Sciatica
• Acute or chronic back pain
• Spinal or foraminal stenosis
Spinal Decompression Therapy (IDD Therapy) is non-surgical, non-invasive, and typically does not involve pain medications. The treatment is not only safe and painless, but also comfortable and relaxing. The course of therapy includes approximately 20 treatment sessions but often can be far less due to our proprietary protocols. Our goal is to complete the treatment in the least number of sessions needed. Each procedure is performed with a unique, patent pending physio-therapeutic device and is performed by a certified clinician, specializing in neck and back pain care. The treatment sessions typical last 60 minutes.
The key to our success at Buckhead Spine Specialists is incorporating muscular therapies, massage and a physical therapy program as part of the spinal decompression protocol. This allows our patients to not only experience a reduction of symptoms but stabilizes the affected area to allow for permanent relief.
Unlike most clinics, the patient will see a doctor each visit as those discussions are vital to a the patients recovery since each patient's needs can vary and care plans can be fluid. Too often decompression is implemented with a one size fits all program without a doctor's involvement.
With over 60 years of experience, we have established unique systems and protocols to facilitate the fastest recovery. In fact, we teach these protocols to doctors around the world in an effort to improve the efficacy for their patients.
Finally, the type of decompression is critically important to the success of our patient's care plan. Not all decompression tables are created equal and the IDD Accu-spina table is the latest in advanced decompression therapy and the gold standard for decompression machines.
The medical doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors at BSS have developed a protocol that has proven to be very effective for our patients.

We are very proud of our success rate. In fact, we don't allow just any patient to begin Decompression Therapy. The truth is, despite what you may hear from other clinics, everyone is not a candidate for IDD therapy.
We like to perform a thorough exam before allowing any patients to begin treatment. Too many clinics will allow patients to begin treatment knowing that it is unlikely that it will be beneficial, simply to make a financial gain. Please be aware of this practice before beginning any Decompression Program.
Payment:
We accept most insurance plans.
It is very easy to find out exactly what the cost of IDD Therapy will be. Simply call the office at (404) 869-6400 and one of our friendly staff will verify your insurance benefits. In most cases, you will simply be responsible for your co pay.
The doctors at BSS/GSS/EAS want you to know exactly what IDD entails from the protocol to the finances. We are here to guide you in the process.
Therefore, we offer not only a Free Consultation but we want you to experience the therapy itself before making any financial obligation. This is to ensure our success rate, and allow the patient to make as informed decision as possible.
What Is Spinal Decompression Therapy
IDD Therapy is an innovative approach for the relief of lower back syndromes, including:
• Herniated or bulging discs
• Degenerative disc disease
• Posterior facet syndrome
• Sciatica
• Acute or chronic back pain/neck pain
IDD Therapy is non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that has seen up to 86% success rates. The treatment is not only safe and painless, but also comfortable and relaxing. The course of therapy includes approximately 20 treatment sessions and is completed in about 35 days. Each procedure is performed with a unique, patent pending physio-therapeutic device and is performed by a certified clinician, specializing in back pain care. The treatment sessions are brief, lasting approximately 30 minutes.
How does IDD Therapy work?
IDD Therapy can isolate each lumbar or cervical vertebra and distract the vertebrae surrounding an injured disc. The 25 to 30 minute treatment provides static, intermittent, and cycling forces on structures that may be causing low back pain.
Negative pressure promotes the diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrients into the vertebral disc area, thereby re-hydrating the degenerated disc. Repeated pressure differential promotes retraction of a herniated nucleus pulposus (the elastic core of the intervertebral disc). This process promotes the healing and rehabilitation of the damages discs and relieving the pain.
